The Calico Mine Train is a classic dark ride located at Knott’s Berry Farm. The ride closed on January 6, 2014 for a multi-month refurbishment. This rehab of the ride with be in vain of the 5 million dollar remodel that took place last year on the Timber Mountain Log Ride. The Mine Ride does look tired and is in dispare. The refurbishment will feature new Audio Animatronics, props, new rockwork, and infrastructure upgrades. On the last day of operation as the original ride, our friends at MiceChat held a private event where 40 fans got be the last guests on the mine ride. There was also a panel with the folks from Garner Holt Productions, the masterminds behind this reimagining. We also got to go on this classic ride with the lights on! Lucky for you, I recorded that!
