This past summer I took a visit to central Florida and spent a few nights at Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort. The resort opened a few years ago, but I wanted to share some photos of the best mid century modern production design you’ll find today.
The signage and architecture at the entry creates a great sense of arrival.
Lots of signage using typefaces from House Industries, they make some of my favorites.
The newly opened Volcano Bay water park is right next door and compliments the hotel extremely well. Nothing goes together better than Mid-Century and Polynesian design.
I was fortunate to stay in the new Beachside Tower that offers beautiful views of Volcano Bay.
Some of the details found inside the room and hallways for the towers.
The carpet has starburst!
The lobby space and food hall have some really great interior design elements. The main building also features a bar, bowling alley, and a gym themed to Jack LaLanne!
The paneling on the handrails are fantastic.
All this great signage was created by the talented team at WrenHosue Design.
So much neon!!
From the interior design and furniture to the architecture and signage, Cabana Bay is heaven for anyone who loves mid century design.
