Ratatouille: The Adventure model

The newest attraction from Walt Disney Imagineering just opened on July 15 at the Walt Disney Studios Park next door to Disneyland Paris. Ratatouille: The Adventure or Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy in French. It is based on the 2007 film Ratatouille from Pixar.  The new dark ride features the latest in trackless ride systems. This is similar to the ride vehicles in Mystic Manor, but they have a simple motion base and a fleet of 36 cars. The ride places guests into the world from the film and they are transported onto a roof, the queue and are unexplainably now the size of a rat. Guests then board vehicles that travel in groups of three. They are dispatched from one of two loading areas. The next scene takes them into one of two massive domed screens. From there we fall into the main kitchen and find safety in the pantry, where all of Remy’s friends are hiding. This pantry scene features most of the props, such as massive hams, fish, oranges, etc. The next screen shows all the rats taking the food from the pantry to Remy’s secret kitchen. Linguini’s mop splashes the guests and water sprays out adding yet another dimension on top of the 3-D. We also feel the heat as we hide under a nearby oven. A few more scenes play out until we find ourselves at Bistro Chez Remy. This unloading room features one of the best uses of a trackless ride system in my opinion. Instead of exiting through a gift shop, we go past the entrance to Remy’s restaurant from the film and the ride. This ride has no height requirement making it a great ride for families. I built this model in about ten days and was a fairly easy build because the layouts of the ride leaked out last year.

I hope you enjoyed my latest model. My next project is the Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts attraction that just opened with Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida. What do you think of my newest model?
